Develop a nautical challenge focused on innovation and sustainability. Participants should explore new technologies, innovative materials, and alternative propulsion systems that reduce environmental impact while maintaining nautical performance. This may involve utilizing solar energy, hydrogen, electricity, and other renewable energy sources to power boats. The challenge should encourage creative solutions that prioritize sustainability without compromising performance, and participants should be able to showcase their ideas through practical and feasible designs or prototypes. The challenge should also emphasize the potential positive impact of these innovations on the marine industry and the environment.
Conference on Advanced Yachting Technology: The topic will be an overview of innovation in the maritime and yachting industries.
Boats will be timed over a specified distance, following the guidelines inspired by the 1904 ‘km course’ rules.
For the endurance challenge, all classes will race for as long as possible on the course to demonstrate their boats’ energy capabilities, on a course open for 4 hours.
Boats will navigate a slalom course, and the classification will be determined by the time it takes to reach the finish line.
Two by two per Class, boats compete on a course set in the YCM Marina. Each race is a qualifier with one being eliminated each time.
