For this edition, the Yacht Club de Monaco will again be ready to welcome prototypes, start-ups and innovative projects based on new energy sources in the yachting sector in the exhibitors village at the heart of the boat paddocks.

Amer Yachts was founded in 1973. In the early 90s, the Shipyard Permare begins the construction of yachts under its own brand "Amer Yachts", that over the years will become a synonymous of quality. Presented at the YCM end of April, the RaceBird, a new all-electric raceboat prototype set to line up on the starting grid in the UIM E1 World Championship, will be on display during the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. The 7m long single-pilot vessel utilises innovative hydrofoil technology to minimise drag and maximise energy efficiency. The RaceBird can fly above the water’s surface and is capable of reaching a top speed of 50 knots. The raceboat is powered by an electric motor developed by Mercury Racing, which supplies a peak power output of 150 kW together with a 35kWh battery produced by Kreisel Electric.

HYDRO IMPULSE SYSTEMS
The Hydro Impulse, a maritime impeller, is a highly efficient propeller replacement. It transfers more power into the water and provides much more thrust. In order to increase fun and action as well as reduce costs and CO2 emissions. Its hydrodynamical optimised design provides up to 20% increased efficiency compared to propellers, constantly high efficiency over the entire speed range and hardly any cavitation. Currently Hydro Impulse offer electric outboard systems with 11 kW and 25 kW. Both are based on the systems from e'dyn marine. Our focus is on high efficiency throughout the entire driving profile! Compared to the propeller, larger boats can be driven in planing mode without a license in various European countries. To further boost e-mobility on the water, we are currently developing a new system with 50 kW and a great practical range.
Laneva Boats has its origins in the 19th century and more precisely in the work of the German engineer Moritz von Jacobi who, in 1838, launched the first electric boat in the world on the Neva River in St. Petersburg in the presence of Tsar Nicholas I. It was the first time in history that royal eyes had the opportunity to observe an electric boat sailing. Laneva Boats owes its iconic character to a multidisciplinary team whose ambition is to combine the tradition of boat building with an understanding of propulsion innovations and the challenges of sustainable mobility in the coming decades.

We plan to make shipping much more serene and clean using our expertise in solar electrification and data science solutions. With over a decade of experience, we intend to become an indomitable force very soon.

Neocean combines advanced technologies and the most demanding respect of the environmental impact.
Optima is developing a new range of ultra-efficient and innovative electric pleasure boats. The unique hull design significantly reduces energy consumption, allowing a range of 200 miles with batteries of only 120kWh. Sea passages will be safe and comfortable with zero emissions. The first 10m demonstration boat will be available in August 2022.
The French companies Platypus Craft and L2 Concept, in collaboration with EODev, are developing the concept of a semi-submersible hydrogen-powered dayboat of eco-responsible construction.This trimaran with a design inspired by automotive codes, with an estimated length of 50 feet and capable of sailing at 30 knots, will accommodate 12 privileged people.
PoliMi Sailing Team is a student association supported by the Design Department of Politecnico di Milano. The Team consists of five departments: Structures, Materials, Performance, Sensors and Logistics, for a total of 80 members with multiple backgrounds, working synergistically in order to give birth to a sustainable racing moth. The goals of the project are set by the Foiling Sustainable Moth Challenge, in which Polimi is competing together with many other top universities in the world: they are not only performance objectives, but rely on the environmental sustainability of the materials and their manufacturing techniques. That is why the main structures of the foiler was built with an innovative sandwich made of basalt fibres, ELIUM resin – a particular thermoplastic binder – and a core of recycled PET. Moreover, all the moulds were made of Glebanite, an original formulation that reuses recycled chopped glass fibres.
RAZETO & CASARETO
In collaboration with Amer Yachts, we were able to synthesise the illuminated smart handle system. This system lights up to be detected in critical conditions to provide information such as indication of escape routes in case of emergency. It interacts with external systems (FDS, ESD, SMS, SMCS) via communication protocols such as Modbus. For installation, the electronics are placed on the ceiling in a special junction box, wired with a BUS485 system that carries a network signal throughout the ship and power to the handle through the lock clash. The handle can be programmed to signal different functions, such as rewiring or no disturbance, and can be configured from the dashboard.
