Southern Solar is a first-year team seeking to compete in the 2023 Monaco Energy Boat Challenge. The team has worked with mentors in solar energy, naval architecture, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering in order to help assure the safety and integrity of the boat’s design. The University plans to continue participation in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge and expand the team into a multidisciplinary design program.
The goal of the project is to design and build a solar-powered boat to compete in the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge in July of 2023.
