Sailing Tiger is a team of 9 aspiring multidisciplinary engineering students passionate about building the fastest eco-friendly boat we can. As a team, we grouped together for our final year project when our mentor, Dr. Ghalib, suggested we participate in the MEBC. Once we learned more about the competition, we became very excited about channeling our collective creactivity within the Energy Class as it is was the most inspiring field for a team so passionate about energy efficiency like ours.
Our base concept of the project was to create a structure as light and durable as possible so as to allow it to reach higher speeds and still support the weight. We incorporated multiple renewable energy sourcing technologies such as flexible solar panels and TEG, as well as implementing rigorous weight conserving methods.
