The Hydrone ITS Team is a team of students shaded by the Naval Architecture and Shipbuilding Engineering Department of the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember in Surabaya, Indonesia. The team members are a combination of students from the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember in Surabaya. In the 2021 MCSEBC participation, team members are students from the 2018 class. This team was founded in 2014 under the name Batharasurya Solar Boat. In 2017, then it changed its name to Hydrone Team. The Hydrone team aims to manufacture and develop high-efficiency maritime transportation equipment. We chose Energy class, because it provide us an opportunity to develop a renewable energy which can be useful in the future , beside the energy class is also the cheapest in term of production among the three classes.
The shape of our cockpit is inspired by NACA 4412, Aerodynamics, Wide cockpit size to maximize lift, Uses azimuth thruster propulsion to increase maneuverability of the ship. We use aerodynamic concept on our cockpit design. We inspired by NACA 4412 aerofoil shape, beside reducing drag to the cockpit and provide lift to our cockpit, this shape has pretty good aesthetic value for us. We use the wide cockpit to maximize the lift. To boost up the speed and improve the maneuverability, we use Custom Build Propeller. Azimuth thruster propulsion that we use is a custom build propeller. Based from the simulation, custom build propeller has a higher efficiency than the built in torqeedo propeller. Cooling system with the application of Automation Technology. As we know that solar panels has an optimum working temperature, but generally solar panels work optimally at 25°-30° C. To avoiding overheat on solar panel, we use a cooler to applying Automation technology that will activate when the temperature around solar panels are above normal limits.
